While the temperature of the body is remembered as a specific number—36.5°C—in our daily lives, this warmth remains deep within us, passing largely unnoticed. Body temperature is never a fixed state; it constantly changes in response to the surrounding environment.

The circular shape of the structure was chosen because it allows films to be attached to both its interior and exterior surfaces, and because it is inherently organic in form. This also connects to the cross-section of a blood vessel running through the body. It takes an invisible, internal segment of the body and translates it into a physical structure large enough for visitors to touch and walk through.

We perceive temperature in many ways, but this structure specifically chooses the most intuitive sense of physical touch. The far-infrared films lining both the interior and exterior surfaces are kept at 36–37°C via a controller. Yet, even this warmth continuously fluctuates, destabilized by variables such as the ambient air and the touch of visitors. The moment a visitor places their hand on the surface, temperature—which had existed only as a subjective, internal experience—is transformed into a tangible, physical object.

Our fingertips, through which we experience touch, are located farthest from the core of the body and are the first to be exposed to the external world. Consequently, our fingertips always exist at a different temperature than our internal core heat. Perhaps our perception and our actual physical senses are always, in this way, slightly misaligned.
